Sowing and Growing Guide

My Fair Lady Mix Wallflower

Indoor Sowing

  • Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost date.
  • Fill seed trays with a seed starting mix and sow seeds on the surface.
  • Do not cover seeds with soil, as they require light to germinate.
  • Keep the soil moist and at a consistent temperature of 60-65°F.
  • Seeds should germinate in 10-14 days.
  • Once seedlings have developed their first set of true leaves, transplant them into individual pots.
  • Continue to grow indoors until the danger of frost has passed.

Outdoor Sowing

  • Sow seeds directly into the garden in early spring or late summer.
  • Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil that has been amended with compost.
  • Sow seeds on the surface of the soil and gently press them in.
  • Water gently to settle the soil around the seeds.
  • Keep the soil moist until seedlings emerge, which should take 10-14 days.
  • Thin seedlings to 6-8 inches apart once they have developed their first set of true leaves.

Growing

  • My Fair Lady Mix wallflowers prefer well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter.
  • Water consistently to keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.
  • Fertilize once a month with a balanced fertilizer.
  • Deadhead regularly to encourage continuous blooming.
  • Cut flowers regularly for indoor arrangements to encourage more blooming.
