- Sow seeds 1/2 inch deep and 1 inch apart.
- Water the soil thoroughly and place the tray/pots in a sunny location or under grow lights.
- Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
- Seedlings should emerge in 4-7 days.
- Thin the seedlings to provide adequate spacing, leaving the strongest ones.
- Transplant the seedlings outdoors when they have developed 2-3 true leaves and the soil has warmed up.
Outdoor Sowing
- Sow seeds directly into the garden once the soil can be worked in the spring.
- Choose a location with full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil.
- Prepare the soil by removing any rocks or debris and loosening it with a garden fork.
- Sow the seeds 1/2 inch deep and 1 inch apart in rows spaced 6-8 inches apart.
- Cover the seeds with soil and gently firm it down.
- Water the area thoroughly after sowing.
- Keep the soil consistently moist during germination.
- Thin the seedlings when they are 1-2 inches tall, leaving 2-3 inches between plants.
Growing
- Radish Zlata Yellow prefers cool weather and full sun but can tolerate partial shade.
- Keep the soil consistently moist throughout the growing season.
- Water deeply once or twice a week, depending on the weather and soil moisture levels.
- Apply a layer of organic mulch around the plants to help retain moisture and suppress weeds.
- Monitor for pests, such as flea beetles or aphids, and take appropriate measures to control them.
- Harvest the radishes when they reach the desired size, typically 3-4 weeks after sowing.
- Gently pull the radishes from the soil, taking care not to damage the roots.
