Sowing and Growing Guide
Snowball Cauliflower
Indoor Sowing:
- Sow seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before the last frost date in your area.
- Use seed trays filled with potting soil and place one seed per cell or pot.
- Keep the soil moist and in a warm location until seedlings emerge.
- Once seedlings are a few inches tall and have a few leaves, they can be transplanted outdoors.
Outdoor Sowing:
- Sow seeds outdoors directly in the garden bed 2-4 weeks before the last frost date in your area.
- Plant the seeds 1/4 inch deep and 2-3 inches apart.
- Once the seedlings are a few inches tall and have a few leaves, thin them to 12-18 inches apart.
Growing:
- Choose a location with full sun or partial shade and well-draining soil with a pH between 6.0 and 7.0.
- Keep the soil moist, but not waterlogged.
- Apply a balanced fertilizer every 3-4 weeks during the growing season.
- Harvest the cauliflower heads when they are firm, compact, and white.
- Cut the heads from the stem and remove any leaves.
