Amsterdam Forcing Carrot
Indoor Sowing:
- Sow seeds in trays or modules filled with potting soil.
- Plant seeds 1cm deep and 2cm apart.
- Water gently and keep soil moist, but not waterlogged.
- Place trays or modules in a warm, sunny spot, or under grow lights.
- Seedlings should emerge within 10-14 days.
- Transplant seedlings outdoors once they have 3-4 leaves and the risk of frost has passed.
Outdoor Sowing:
- Sow seeds outdoors from late March to July.
- Plant seeds 1cm deep and 2cm apart in a prepared seed bed.
- Water gently and keep soil moist, but not waterlogged.
- Thin seedlings to 5-10cm apart once they have grown a few leaves.
Growing:
- Carrots prefer well-draining soil and a sunny spot.
- Keep soil moist, but not waterlogged.
- Fertilize with a balanced fertilizer once a month.
- Harvest carrots when they reach the desired size.
- For best flavor, harvest carrots when they are young and tender.
