Indoor Sowing:
- Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date
- Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep in a seed-starting tray filled with moistened seed-starting mix
- Keep soil moist and warm (around 70°F) until germination, which usually takes 7-10 days
- Once seedlings have 2-3 sets of leaves, transplant them to individual pots
- Keep plants in a warm, sunny location and water regularly
Outdoor Sowing:
- Wait until after the last frost date to sow seeds outdoors
- Choose a sunny location with well-draining soil
- Plant seeds 1/4 inch deep and 6-12 inches apart
- Keep soil moist until seedlings emerge, then water regularly
- Thin seedlings to 6-12 inches apart once they have 2-3 sets of leaves
Growing:
- Cinnamon Basil prefers full sun and well-draining soil
- Water regularly, especially during dry periods
- Pinch off flower buds to encourage bushier growth and prolong harvest
- Harvest leaves as needed once the plant is 6-8 inches tall
- Plants can be grown indoors year-round or outdoors during the growing season
